Sasquatch vs. Robot – The Webcomic That Never Was
For the longest time I wanted to do a second strip to compliment Gary and Ted. The best way I thought to do that was a spin-off starring everyone’s favorite North American land ape, the Sasquatch. He made his first appearance in this Gary and Ted strip. Added to the mixture was the Robot which I thought would add a nice thematic opposite to the Sasquatch. Nature vs. Technology, Past vs. Future, Fantasy vs. Science, etc.
But as the fates had it Sasquatch vs. Robot was a bit too ambitious for me. It took way to long to complete one strip which is a bit of a problem when it’s meant to run along with a thrice a week strip. I also found that I really had no strong ideas of how to pit a Sasquatch against a Robot and I got about six strips in before that hit me. So for now Sasquatch vs. Robot has been shelved until I can find the proper setting for them. I love the characters too much just to let them fade out (which explains Sasquatch’s continued cameos in Gary and Ted.)
So until I can really flesh out the concept a little better here are the six Sasquatch vs. Robot strips that where completed.
